Meet our clinician Krisztina Supporting your hearing journey

We’re thrilled to welcome Krisztina to the Advanced Hearing WA team! Since joining us in November 2024, Krisztina has truly hit the ground running, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and genuine compassion for her clients. She’s already made a big impact—fitting right in with the team and quickly becoming a favourite among our clients thanks to her warm manner and dedication to quality hearing care. We’re so lucky to have her on board!

‘ I am originally from Hungary, where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Economics and studied International Marketing. I was also fluent in German, which I spoke as a second language before relocating to the UK in 2004. My entry into audiology happened quite by chance—I was covering a role as a practice manager while seeking opportunities in marketing. However, I quickly fell in love with the field, particularly the rewarding experience of working closely with clients whose daily life is improved through their hearing health.

Inspired by this meaningful work, I pursued a career in audiology. I began my training through the company I worked with and later formalised my qualifications by studying at De Montfort University, becoming a qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist in the UK.

Fulfilling a long-held family dream to live in Australia—specifically Western Australia or Queensland—we seized the opportunity to immigrate when I was offered a role. Over the past 11 years, I have worked as a senior clinician and trainer across multiple sites in WA. I’m passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives through improved hearing health and take pride in the personalised care we provide.

I truly enjoy being part of a collaborative team and value the daily interactions with clients—it’s incredibly fulfilling to help people reconnect with their world through better hearing. Although I’m originally from Europe, Busselton has become home, and living here truly feels like a holiday every day!‘

Ear Wax Removal

Our clinical team is here to help you with your wax build up!

Ear wax (otherwise known as cerumen) is a harmless substance made by tiny glands in the ear canals. Its job is to clean & protect the ears by trapping dirt & germs from getting deep inside your ear where they could cause an ear infection. Some ear wax in the ear canal is completely normal.

Usually, ear wax naturally moves out of the ear and takes the dirt & dead skin cells with it, however, on occasion wax may be considered for removal if the ear drum needs to be inspected to help make a medical diagnosis or to help alleviate symptoms such as reduced hearing, tinnitus, pain, vertigo and interference with hearing aids.

At Advanced Hearing WA we offer Wax Removal via micro suction. With micro suction the wax is directly visualised under a microscope whilst it is being removed and no water is involved, making it a much cleaner & safer wax removal method.

Micro suction is recommended by Advanced Hearing WA in lieu of ear syringing for the following reasons

Quicker & more precise with minimal room for error
Gentle on the ear canal & more comfortable for the patient
Micro suction is much safer with a lower risk of infection & damaging the ear drum, middle ear & inner ear structures

Preparation & what to expect:

– Our administrative team are trained in video otoscopy & are able to check your ears for wax and advise if a removal is recommended.
– Use of olive oil or Clean Ears wax softening spray is required for 5 days prior to suctioning.
– Prior to the removal a video otoscopic inspection will be performed on your ear by a qualified clinician
– Using a microscope & micro suction machine we will gentle remove the wax from your ear canal, this is a quick and gentle procedure that generally only takes 15-30 minutes.
– Your clinician will then inspect your ears again using the video otoscope to ensure that all wax has been removed and to document the status of your ear canal.
