Eimear is regarded as a leading senior audiologist in Busselton and is well known by the medical community and the wider community of Busselton and the surrounding areas in the South West.
With her dual university qualifications her approach to her work is founded from a strong knowledge base, and with her years of experience she is holistic and caring with her clients as their achieve communication outcomes.
Eimear (pronounced “eema”) O’Brien graduated from Human Communication Science (Speech Pathology) at Curtin University in 2004 and went on to do her Masters in Clinical Audiology at the University of Melbourne and graduated in 2006.
From 2007 to 2012 she gained experience working in a variety of hearing clinics in Perth and in the South West. Throughout her working career Eimear has worked in nearly every aspect of clinical Audiology; including pre-operative diagnostics for a leading Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon, she has extensive knowledge of hearing instruments. Eimear is familiar with all of the major hearing manufacturer’s hearing aids, she has worked in the areas of tinnitus and cochlear implantation and is very experienced in assessing children of all ages. She also has worked within the Office of Hearing Services hearing aid program for 6 years providing free hearing testing and free hearing aids to pensioners. Eimear has current practicing certificates from the Audiological Society of Australia, Speech Pathology Australia, Work Cover and Mines Health Surveillance.
Eimear is married to Aaron who is a wine maker, and they enjoy living on a family vineyard in Wilyabrup.
Kathy obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders (combined Speech Therapy and Audiology) in 1994 from Minot State University, Minot, North Dakota. She then completed her Master Degree in Audiology in 1996 from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.
Kathy spent 4 years working as an Audiologist in Canada before moving to Australia in 2000. She had been working as an Audiologist in Fremantle and Perth and moved to the southwest in 2010. She is skilled in fitting children and adults with hearing aids and dealing with more complex communication difficulties. She is a highly knowledgeable audiologist with 26 years’ experience in the industry. Kathy has worked with all the major hearing aid manufacturer’s hearing aids.
Kathy has worked within the Office of Hearing Services hearing aid program for 14 years providing free hearing assessments and free hearing aids to pensioners. Kathy has her current practicing certificates from the Audiological Society of Australia and Speech Language and Audiology Canada.
Kathy is known for her wonderful baking skills and says that if she was not an audiologist she would be a pastry chef.
Rennie started with Advanced Hearing WA in 2019 as our Audiometrist. Rennie has spent the last 20 years growing up & residing in Busselton & is a familiar face to join the AHWA team.
Rennie has a diploma in special needs and became interested in audiology after working with a child fitted with a cochlear implant for 4.5 years. She has always wanted to work in a field of work that helped enrich & improve peoples quality of life.
Before becoming an Audiologist, Liying was a public servant providing services to people living with disabilities. She enjoys interacting & empowering individuals to live a better life that they deserve. A career in Audiology offers her the privilege to do so.
Andrea joined Advanced Hearing WA in 2018 as our accounts manager. Andrea has a background in allied health, business and occupational health & safety and her extensive knowledge in these fields plays a large part in the day-to-day running of Advanced Hearing WA.
Candace has been with Advanced Hearing WA since 2019. With an extensive background in marketing & customer service, she is passionate about spreading the importance of hearing health throughout the South West community.
